PHOTOGRAPH EVIDENCE

What the evidence strip actually means

Every competing platform shows you photographs. The strip under the photographs on a Bid Budi unit tells you why you can trust them. Here is what each field is, and what it does not claim.

Captured

When the photograph was taken, in South African time, read from the file itself rather than from when it was uploaded. Photographs have to be taken within a defined window before the unit is submitted.

Location

How far the camera was from the facility's recorded coordinates. Green means it was where it should have been. It does not prove which unit was photographed — only that the photograph was taken at that facility.

Integrity

A SHA-256 hash taken when the file arrived. If the stored image were ever altered, the hash would no longer match. The original is kept immutably; what you are shown is a derivative of it.

Taken by

The named facility staff member who captured it, and whether it was captured inside the app or uploaded. In-app capture is stronger evidence, because there is no gap between the shutter and the record.

Reviewed & released

Bid Budi checks every set of photographs against the standard — a wide shot from the doorway, all four quadrants, close-ups of anything labelled — before the unit goes live. A unit nobody reviewed does not get released.

Unit sealed

When the facility's own coded lock went on. From that moment nobody opens the unit — including the facility — until you are standing there.

A field that says NOT RECORDED stays on the page. We do not hide a missing field, because an absent field is information you are entitled to. If the location was never recorded, that is something you should know before you bid, not something we should tidy away.
What none of this claims. Nobody has opened the unit or listed its contents. The photographs were taken from the doorway and the corners without entering or moving anything. You are bidding on what the photographs show, and on nothing more.
